Achieving Net Zero by 2050

By 2030, we will reduce GHG emissions by at least 29%* through fuel conservation and manufacturing process optimization, as well as increased clean energy and biomass feedstock utilization and fuel conversion. Further, we are committed to reaching net zero GHG emissions by 2050 while maintaining sustainable growth.

Mitsubishi Chemical Group has developed a vision of the ideal EV concept for 2030. This innovative vehicle is comprised of next-generation material technologies focused on circular economy principles and environmental impact reduction.

This graph compares the current life cycle CO2 emissions* for internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric vehicles available today to the calculated CO2 life cycle of the 2030 concept car utilizing Mitsubishi Chemical materials.

To achieve the 15% CO2e reduction, we have focused on lightweight and sustainable materials to extend the range. Next-generation battery materials also enable the production of safe and sustainable power sources.
